IF your iPhone storage is full, don’t panic – there are ways to fix the problem.

You’re probably wasting a lot of space without realizing it, so here are three tricks to free up some space

Delete downloaded content

If you’re a regular music or podcast listener, or Netflix binge watcher, chances are you have a lot of downloaded content.

This is media downloaded for offline viewing.

Some apps do this automatically.

For example, podcast followers may have stored up massive amounts of audio — and you never get to listen to it.

You can check which of your apps are using a lot of storage space in Settings > General > iPhone Storage.

If you see a media app using a lot of disk space, go in and look for downloaded content.

Then start deleting to free up disk space.

Unload unused apps

There is a clever hack built into iOS that can help you free up disk space very quickly.

It’s called Offload Unused Apps and it appears in your iPhone settings.

The feature removes apps from your phone that you don’t use regularly.

But it backs up the personal content of those apps to the cloud.

That means you won’t lose any of your settings or files in the apps.

However, the physical apps will be removed until you want to use them again.

“Automatically offload unused apps when storage space is low,” advises Apple.

“Your documents and data will be saved.”

Apple only offloads apps you don’t use often.

When The Sun tested the feature, it released a whopping 38.17GB of data.

And this iPhone trick could unlock even more on your own device.

Many newer iPhone models come standard with 64GB of storage.

So freeing up that much memory is a significant amount.

Just go to “Settings” > “General” > “iPhone Storage” and then tap “Turn on when swapping unused apps”.

Check your videos

There is a third Apple trick built into the iPhone that can also free up space.

It’s called Verify Downloaded Videos.

This is an automatic feature that collects videos that you have downloaded to your iPhone.

Videos take up much more space than photos and can easily eat up gigabytes of storage space.

Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage and look for the Verify Downloaded Videos option.

It gives you an estimate of how much space you could free up.

You can then go into the setting and see how much space individual videos are taking up and then delete the ones you don’t want to keep.
