Ireland AM team stitches up TV presenter Alan Hughes’ mistake during spicy meal

VIRGIN Media star Alan Hughes got his Ireland AM co-stars and crew sewn up after he couldn’t handle a spicy meal on the show.

The TV presenter was blushing speechless as chef Jack O’Keeffe prepared a spicy stir-fry on yesterday morning’s show.

At the beginning of the segment, the presenter introduces the “delicious” recipe of famous chef Jack O’Keefe.

Alan posed some questions to the chef such as whether people would like to eat red peppers.

“Honestly, absolutely brutally honest,” Jack said. It depends on how much effort I want for the dish. “

The presenter asked if it was the grain that gave the dish its spice.

The TV chef explains: “You reduce the heat by removing the seeds. I find sometimes toasted seeds a bit too much in stir-fries.

“You can bite into them.”

Alan joked that they didn’t want any such spices.

When the beef, kale, and cashew stir-fry was ready, the two hosts happily ate at 8:40 a.m.

Presenter Tommy Bowe said the dish was “very nice, very tasty”.

However, Alan winced in heat as he tried to hold himself together.

He said, “Oh my gosh, there’s a hit to it okay.”

Tommy jumped in for the presenter, to “let Alan recover” and the two men were being sewn together as Alan’s mouth was on fire.

Alan exclaims “I’ve got all the spices” and Jack and Tommy joke about how he’s in love spicy food.

Chef Jack jokingly called for the fire extinguisher.

This comes later Muireann O’Connell and Alan recently wore grass skirts for Daniel O’Donnell.

The presenters had a gala on set as they specially dressed the Irish singer after he Daniel a clip for him single Down at The Lah De Dah two weeks ago.

The video shows the singer working out his standard nine to five years old but daydreaming about sporting a hula skirt and Hawaiian lei while surfing, sipping cocktails and playing the ukulele.

Muireann and Alan dressed up as Hawaiian dancers to honor the blacksmith Donegal, wearing grass skirts and floral necklaces.

Taking to Instagram, Muireann said: “Daniel O’Donnell chatted with us this morning and we had to get dressed to pay tribute to his new vid.

“LOVE IT.”

Daniel told the couple on Ireland AM: “I love your outfit.”
