Ireland Weather Forecast – Frosty nights to come with -1C lows as Met Eireann says high pressure will ‘dominate’

MET Eireann has forecast icy nights for the rest of this week, with temperatures as low as -1C.

The National Weather Service says high pressure will continue to dominate the country, bringing mostly dry and stable weather.

Overall forecast for the week, weather experts said: “High pressure over Ireland will continue to dominate for at least the next seven days, bringing mostly stable, dry weather.”

Today will see patchy rain in the morning clear to dry, light sunshine later.

Meet Eireann “Early this morning, patchy rain and drizzle over Leinster and Munster will clear to the southeast.

“Clear weather in Ulster and Connacht will extend to all areas. Today will be mostly dry with spells of sunshine and a few showers north of Ulster.


“Highest temperatures between 7°C and 9°C with moderate northwesterly winds.”

It’s going to be chilly and dry tonight with temperatures plummeting to -1C to 3C accompanied by light winds. Frost will develop in many areas, while fog and fog are also expected.

Thursday will be dry with sunny or bright spells and peak temperatures between 6°C and 9°C.

Both Thursday and Friday nights will see similarly low nighttime temperatures of -1C to 4C or 5C.

Frost, fog will develop in many areas. temperatures will reach 6°C to 8°C, dry, bright, sunny and light drizzle in the West and Northwest.

Saturday and Sunday will also be dry and clear, with only light drizzle and highs of 6°C to 8°C or 9°C.


Looking at the forecast for early next week, Met Eireann said: “Next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will continue to be mostly dry.

“There will be a fair amount of cloud and occasional light rain or drizzle near the West and North coasts. Daytime temperatures will reach between 6°C and 10°C. Nights will be quite cold, with frost. and in some places it’s foggy.”
