MET Eireann predicts cloudy and foggy conditions today as the weather turns milder this week.

The sun will set today leaving most of Tuesday dry, with some patches of light rain and drizzle.

However, these showers are set to be limited to the northwest fringes during the day.

Tuesday night will be dry, with long clear clear weather, with possible light showers in the northwest.

Lowest temperatures will drop from -2°C to +3°C, bringing some patches of fog and fog in places.

Thursday night will remain similar, with patches of cloud and drizzle.

The lowest temperature will be from 0C to 5C.

However, it will be colder and clearer with frost forming further south as temperatures could drop by -2C to +2C as the fog reappears.

SURPRISE CONDITIONS

The Met Eireann says the fog will slowly clear again on Friday and could linger for days.

They said: “Otherwise, it will be a dry day with a mix of clouds and sun.

“Some patches of light rain and drizzle will occur in coastal areas.

“The highest temperature is between 5°C and 9°C, the coolest on the southern half of the country”.

Friday night will continue to be dry with some light rain and drizzle as the lowest temperatures drop between 0°C and 4°C. Fog will also form again.

WEATHER OF THE WEEK

Saturday is set to be dry and cloudy again, with light rain in places.

Highest temperatures are set between 6°C and 9°C, with the possibility of more persistent rain over parts of Munster later in the day.

Lowest temperatures will range between -2°C and +2°C on Saturday night, with fog forming again.

Sunday will continue to be dry with an outbreak of both sunny and drizzly weather, with fog and mist persisting.

Peak temperatures are predicted between 5°C and 9°C.
