Irish actor Emmett J Scanlan announces birth of a baby girl – ‘Three days ago we met her’

Irish actor Emmett J Scanlan has announced the birth of his second child, a baby girl named Fiáin-Luna.

He stars Peaky Blinders and Kin are married to British actress and Hollyoaks star Claire Cooper, with whom the couple has a two-year-old son.

Scanlan (43 years old) shared a sweet photo holding her daughter’s hand online. He captioned the photo: “Three days ago we met her..”

Several well-wishers took to the comments section to congratulate the family, with Bad Sisters star Sharon Horgan saying: “Oh my gosh. Congratulations xxx”

British actress Anna Friel, who stars in the Netflix detective series Marcella, commented: “So beautiful.”

Former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley said: “Oh my loves!!!! How glorious!!! Big congratulations. Sending lots of love xxxx”

Scanlon portrays Jimmy Kinsella in the crime drama Kin, which will return for a second season next year.

The Dublin native shared a photo with co-star Charlie Cox, who plays Michael Kinsella, to his Instagram account in October.

In the photo, the couple is sitting in a car together and Scanlan reveals they have just finished filming.

He captioned the photo: “Kin season 2, STARTED!!!! 16 hours of prime time TV over 2 years, DONE!! Thank you to all the heads who made the af**kin trip this season. I’m so excited to be a part of this tear-jerking beast.

“And to my brother from another mother, my roommate, goodbye. He will miss me more than anyone. Call it a hunch, but it will hit him hard…until next time, Dublin.”
