IRISH holidaymakers stunned by ‘groundbreaking’ hack to find cheapest flights online.
TikTok user Caoimhín, posting @yascaoimhin on the social media platform, has revealed his nifty trick to find cheap flights and compare prices across Europe in seconds.
Caoimhín said: “I started looking for flights and of course I chose Dublin – Sydney.
“But there is one thing you can do. And it’s especially helpful if you live in Europe.”
While many people are searching for the destination to fly to, the popular TikToker explained a different way.
He said: “If you go to Google Flights and it asks where you’re going, leave that blank.”
He explains that you must enter the country of destination in the “Where from?” field. Crate.
He types in Sydney and a map with different prices appears.
He continues: “What that will then show you is the cost of flying from Sydney to any number of places. So Sydney to Melbourne flight $47.
“But if I zoom out here and go to Europe, I see how much it costs from all European airports.”

He zooms into the map of Europe and displays the prices from different airports.
Caoimhín continued, “So just let me put the correct date in. So now I have all the prices for flights from Sydney to these European airports.
“It looks like Zurich is the cheapest airport to fly to from Sydney. So I will look into a flight from Zurich to Sydney and see if I can get a cheap one.”
This little trick could potentially save you a few hundred dollars.
He said: “But you might think Caoimhín, you don’t live in Zurich. They live in Dublin.
“Yes, but this is where Ryanair comes in. If I can find a flight to Sydney from a European airport that is significantly cheaper than flying from Dublin. I can just fly Ryanair for €20.”
He admits that the travel time would be longer, but it’s worth it.
He said: “But the flight to Australia is 24 hours anyway. I don’t think an extra pair [hours] coming to Zurich is becoming too much.
“Save €300, so some airports are just more expensive to fly to.”
He pointed out that for people who live in London and want to travel to Tokyo, it is cheaper to fly from Dublin.
Caoimhín said: “Take a Ryanair flight to Dublin and go from there. You can save almost €300.”
But he warned people trying this hack to “be careful” and get travel insurance.
He added: “If that Ryanair flight is delayed or canceled you are not entitled and simply cannot get your flight.”
Tik Tok users couldn’t believe the simple hack, and one said, “This is game-changing.”
Another added: “Excellent advice!”
Meanwhile, a Ryanair passenger has revealed how to save on luggage – and people are stunned by her brilliant tip.
