Health insurer Irish Life Health will partner with primary care provider Centric Health to provide access to a new healthcare service that combines a mix of digital and face-to-face care.
The new community health venture will be called Care-Connect and is the first of its kind for Irish Life Health since it became part of Irish Life Group.
Care-Connect will also be the first stage of a multi-stage partnership with primary care provider Centric Health. Centric Health has 68 locations across Ireland and a network of 250 GPs.
The partnership will focus on case management and personalized healthcare support with remote monitoring elements as well as face-to-face services.
size Davis, chief executive officer of Irish Health Life, said Care-Connect is an important strategic move for the company and its nearly half a million customers.
“Our research shows that the direction in healthcare is to use technology and personalized health advice in the community to help people manage their health and improve their quality of life,” he said.
“We also know that convenience, speed and safety are top priorities for our customers, especially when using virtual health models.”
“There is a huge appetite in Ireland for so-called ‘digital-physical’ healthcare and the mix of remote and face-to-face experiences together with the connected network of clinical services that this partnership offers will serve this market well,” said Maurice Cox, CEO of Centric Health.
The new company will be led by Dr. Donal Bailey, director of clinical innovation at Centric Health.
