The meteorologist said that tomorrow morning will also be wet. Around noon the rain will ease towards the north, followed by extensive showers.
The showers will be long-lasting and heavy in some places, with the highest temperatures reaching 8C to 11C.
Wednesday night will be windy with widespread, at times heavy, showers and lowest temperatures of 3C to 6C.
Met Éireannn said Thursday will be windy and rainy, with occasional sleet showers possible in the north.
At the highest temperatures of 5°C to 8°C, there are occasional light periods.
Thursday night will be windy and rainy in places with low temperatures of 0°C to 5°C.
Met Éireann said Friday’s forecast is uncertain but signs show it will be windy for a while, with showers or prolonged rain and afternoon highs of 6C to 9C.
“There is a lot of uncertainty for next weekend but the low pressure is likely to bring another rainy spell or more showers. It might also get a little colder,” said Met Éireann.
