AN IRISHMAN was escorted from the Vatican by police on Wednesday after shouting abuse at Pope Francis.
During an audience with the Pope on February 2, the man is said to have shouted “this is not the Church of God” before being removed from the premises.
The middle-aged man is said to be known to Vatican police for his outbursts of behavior in Roman basilicas.
According to the Daily Mail, from behind the Paul VI hall, the man stood up and began shouting at the Pope in English, Italian and Spanish.
“The Church is not what God wants,” he said.
“God rejected me, Father. I’m not a king.”
The man, believed to be an Irish citizen living in Rome, was in the back of the hallway shouting “mask” repeatedly throughout the ceremony before being removed.
After he was taken away, Pope Francis asked the congregation to join him in praying for the man.
