The M25 is closed for a second day after a lorry pulled into the median, then collided and spilled cooking oil across the motorway.
The accident resulted in three lanes being blocked shortly before junction 25 on the clockwise lane of the federal highway.
The exit – which is the junction for the A10 at Waltham Abbey – was closed around 11.30am yesterday morning following the accident.
About 30 minutes later, the road was completely closed to motorists due to the accumulation of vegetable oil on the road.
It has since remained closed and is likely to remain closed during this morning’s rush hour (Wednesday 20 April).

Is the M25 motorway closed?
At the time of writing the M25 motorway is closed but only between Junction 23 A1(M) South Mimms and Junction 25 A10 (Enfield) clockwise.
Due to the complexity of the cleanup, the National Highways Agency anticipates it will remain closed throughout the morning.
Meanwhile, motorists using the freeway elsewhere are experiencing congestion with backlogs lasting about three miles, according to the INRIX traffic monitoring system. EssexLive reports.
Also on the opposite side of the lane, past exit 25, there is congestion due to onlookers on the counter-clockwise lane.
Traffic has built up for two miles.

Motorists should expect delays during the clean-up work.
A detour via the North Circular is currently in operation.
A National Highways spokesman said: “We are in the process of rerouting traffic that is trapped in the closure.
“We have cleared all vehicles from J23 to J24 and are now starting to clear J24 to J25.]
“Where you are in the queue depends on how long it takes you to be turned around.”
In their most recent update they added: “The clockwise M25 remains closed in all lanes between J23 (Borehamwood) and J25 (Enfield) following a collision and a large spill of cooking oil.
“Contractors are working to clean the oil from the roadway.]
“Delays of up to 60 minutes on approach.”
Motorists have taken to social media to express their frustration Hertz is alive.
One wrote: “I’ve been stuck in stationary traffic between J24 and J25 since 11:30am.
“I have a crying and distressed 10 month old baby in the car that needs to be changed and fed.
“What on earth is going on and when can I expect to be moving?”
