ISIS bride Shamima Begum fears execution after being told she will be tried for terrorism-related offences.

The 22-year-old is living in Syrian refugee camps after being stripped of her British citizenship after leaving the UK aged 15.

She is likely to be prosecuted after officials began investigating her ties to ISIS.

Begum was one of three teenage girls who stunned Britain in 2015 when they traveled to Syria to become jihadi brides.

Begum has said she was groomed online before leaving the UK with friends Amira Abase and Kadiza Sultana.

Among the allegations Begum faces is that she helped manufacture suicide bombs for IS terrorists.

The Rojava region is self-governing and not under the control of the Syrian regime.

Begum’s friends say she has little faith in the judicial system there and remains desperate to return to Britain.

A source tells The sun : “Begum has convinced herself that if she is tried and found guilty of terrorist offenses in Syria, she will pay the ultimate price. She is very scared and worried.

“She has been told that she will be tried in Rojava, probably as a member of a group of women accused of terrorist offences.

“She hasn’t been given a date yet, but was told it would be around September or October. The Rojava authorities do not endorse the death penalty, but that has not convinced them that they will not escape such punishment.”

Last year Begum tried to reintroduce her passport but failed in her application to the Supreme Court to return to the UK to plead her case in person.

Investigators in Rojava are believed to be looking into Begum’s claims, in which she said she was “not concerned” when she saw heads in trash cans.

Begum has insisted she “didn’t know ISIS was a death cult” and claims she doesn’t want to hurt anyone.

Attorney Tasnime Akunjee, who previously worked for Begum, said: “I think your concerns are valid. The justice system there is a bit poor.”
