Singer Sinitta Malone has not ruled out music mogul Simon Cowell returning to The X Factor following rumors the talent show could return to TV screens.
His show has been an important annual show on ITV since 2004 but has stopped airing since 2018.
The talent show has experienced a drop in viewership, and recent spin-offs X Factor: Celebrity and X Factor: The Band haven’t been able to recoup the losses.
Speaking on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, Sinitta, 58, who is a regular on the show, said: “I know it’s in Simon’s heart to bring the show back.
“I don’t know what channel it’s going to be on, I don’t know who’s going to do it with him, but since we’ve done it before I think it’s got to be us.”
GMB host Charlotte Hawkins said: “What Simon wants him to get is a lot, so if he wants that to happen we can expect it to happen.”
“Pretty much,” says Sinitta.
“It will be fun. It’s a great outlet for talent and I think people have missed it by now. “
The X Factor was once one of the most popular shows on TV and helped launch the careers of chart-topping artists including One Direction, Little Mix, Olly Murs and Leona Lewis.
Sinitta was Cowell’s special guest at the judges’ house in 2009, stepping out to talk to contestants dressed in palm leaf costumes.

“I actually did it myself,” she said. They’re real leaves that I plugged in two minutes before we started shooting, and then they wilt quickly after because it’s as hot in here as it is now when we shoot. “
At the end of 2019, Cowell signed a five-year contract with ITV, under which his shows will appear exclusively on the channel until at least 2024.
It includes five Britain’s Got Talent series and at least one The X Factor.
The music mogul has since turned his attention to his upcoming wedding to American social networking site Lauren Silverman.
The couple confirmed their relationship in 2013 and became parents to a son, Eric – named after Simon’s late father – on Valentine’s Day 2014.
Speaking of their upcoming wedding, Sinitta said: “I have ordained; I can do the ceremony if Simon and Lauren want me.
“It’s a legal situation so the offer is made and now it’s up to them.”
Sinitta recently released a new single Do It To Me Baby.
She added: “Who knows in your 50s, I still want to release music, perform musicals, tour Chicago.
“Life is good and it’s great to be back on stage and still busy, so I love it.”
