Coffee and donut chain Dunkin’ gave Starbucks a head start this year with the release of their Pumpkin Spice drinks. On Wednesday, Dunkin added three more additional items to its menu.

Dunkin’ had added a jack-o-lantern-inspired cream-filled donut, a spider donut with a donut hole on top, and peanut butter cup macchiato to pair with its Pumpkin Spice drinks, blood orange soft drinks, and pumpkin baked goods.

Pumpkin seems to be the fan favorite coffee flavor during the fall season, leading to Dunkin’ releasing its pumpkin spice flavor as early as August 17th.

Starbucks, which offers a Pumpkin Spice Latte, added an Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato to its fall menu this year for the second time. Starbucks also usually offers a hot cider for fall.

Both Starbucks and Dunkin’ are expected to launch a holiday menu in November, which usually includes coffee flavors like sugar cookie or peppermint mocha.

Massachusetts-based Dunkin’ has over 11,000 locations across the United States. In 2020, Dunkin’ Brands announced it would close 800 locations in the US due to reduced sales due to the pandemic.
