Coronation Street Fans will see a legend of the soap “return” in emotional scenes to be aired next week.
Cobblestone legend Hayley Cropper will ‘return’ to the cross-country skier. ITV soap through her iconic red coat.
Julie Hesmondhalgh portrayed Hayley, the first transgender character on a British soap opera, between 1998 and 2014, with Julie winning a number of awards for her work on the series.
Roy Cropper and fans of the show gave an emotional goodbye to Hayley eight years ago, and the emotions are sure to return for Roy as he appears to be separated from his late wife’s favorite coat.
Scenes next week will show Bernie persuading Roy’s niece to let her clean Roy’s apartment for his birthday. Bernie then tosses Hayley’s red anorak for the charity shop in a heap and only later realizes her mistake.
Roy is completely clueless when Evelyn hands him a toy train set from a charity shop, which he recognizes as his own. She then rushes to the charity shop and realizes that the coat must have been sent to the same one.
She then rips off a buyer’s coat to return Hayley’s coat to Roy.
