ITV viewers couldn’t take their eyes off Tuesday night when Concert for Ukraine host Emma Bunton took on a series of live risks during the final stage of the fundraising event.
Baby Spice wore a floral mini dress as she presented the fundraiser, where proceeds went to the Ukraine Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC) Humanitarian Appeal, along with Roman Kemp and Marvin Humes .
But when the singer, 46, greeted ITV audiences back after a commercial before Paloma Faith’s performance on stage, she had a series of verbal stares that prompted her to apologize to the audience. .
She began: “If you are enjoying a show at home and you want to help the people who are living,” she stumbles before continuing, “And their lives have been turned upside down by the conflict. In Ukraine, now is the time to please give. ”
She continued: “While you do that, let’s have some more music. Welcome to the great Palom stage,” Emma struggled again before insisting. “Paloma faith. It will be here very soon. Are you ready for Paloma Faith? ”
She continued: “You – you can give any amount online or you can call on the phone. Standard – “When the former Spice Girl once again tripped over her words, she apologized to the audience before going on to say, “Standard geographic charges from landlines and cell phones.”
A string of awkward hiccups went unnoticed by ITV viewers, who took to Twitter in response to the show’s errors, with one viewer savagely asking “Is Emma Bunton okay? Has she had a gin? ”
Another wrote: “Aww, is Baby Spice in Babysham?” as a third posted: “Emma trying to read feels like a remote camera,” along with a GIF of someone squinting.
One social media user said: “I love Emma Bunton but she’s not a presenter bless her.”
Another ITV viewer savagely wrote: “I know it’s all for a great reason and the music is amazing. But Emma Bunton was a disaster.”
Another exclaimed: “Emma Bunton“ the presenter” is so scary!!! Why don’t they choose experienced people over these amateurs!! ”
Another asked: “What’s up with EmmaBunton keeping her words jumbled up,” along with a string of half-baked emojis.
Elsewhere during the two-hour live event in Birmingham, ITV viewers assumed Emeli Sandé was “mimicry” during her performance on Tuesday night.
Ed Sheeran and Camila Cabello took to the stage with 35-year-old hit artists to sing for Ukraine.
After Snow Patrol gave a vibrant opening performance to their hit song Run, Emeli took to the stage in vibrant green to perform alongside a host of choir singers.
But as the power singer had his hit Brighter Days performance in progress, some ITV viewers took to Twitter to speculate whether the artist was actually performing live.
One person wrote: “Worst imitation I have seen in a long time by Emeli Sandé,” as another tweeted: “Sorry Emeli Sandé, I love you but it was a little imitation. most believable I have ever seen.”
