ITV is said to have hit back on Eamonn Holmes‘recent comments on This morning and claims that viewers simply don’t want to see him anymore.

Eamonn, 62 years old, has a position regularly held ITV day show with his wife Ruth Langsford on Fridays until they were replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

In an interview with Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine, Eamonn accuses bosses at This Morning of ‘sly’ and the hypocrisy of his departure amid a diverse drive.

But The Mail on Sunday revealed that executives conducted extensive analysis and discovered that Eamonn’s popularity had simply waned.

Sources also said Eamonn does not support management after casting doubt on media outlets that refute false claims linking 5G technology with Coronavirus.

According to insiders, both reasons have been explained to his agent, although the Northern Ireland star insists he received no explanation.

“ITV is always looking at what the viewers want, what the show viewers want,” said an insider.

“In this way, they want to change, viewers don’t want to see him anymore. Things have to change, they evolve and for him it’s not right to say no explanation.

“Perhaps Eamonn just doesn’t like the reasons given,” the insider added.

An ITV spokesperson told the Mirror on Saturday: “This is not the version of events that we recognize and as we have said before, we wish Eamonn all the best.”

On the topic of diversity, they added: “As we set out in our Diversity Accelerator plan, we’re committed to improving representation both on and offscreen, and we report publicly on progress our commitments and our goals.”

However, on Sunday, Eamonn’s agent Jonathan Shalit told The Mirror: “I don’t believe a ‘source’ said anything official as ITV has always treated InterTalent with great respect. that’s simply not true.Research shows that viewers no longer want to see Eamonn Holmes.

“Research has actually shown Eamonn is rated better than the others who replaced him on This Morning.

“The truth is simple. Eamonn is one of the UK’s most loved broadcasters. His GB NEWS program now often beats his rival Sky News and BBC relaunched his ‘Farm to Feast’ program,” his rep added.

Elsewhere in his interview, Eamonn also took up the issue with former This Morning co-worker Phillip Schofield.

The star called out her fellow presenter for cutting his wife Ruth short in the middle of the trailer for Loose Women on This Morning 2019.

“I only have about three words to say,” Ruth said with a wistful look on her face.

Eamonn said that “Phillip has a reputation for being a snob” and that he was “hurt” by the awkward incident.

“He was very passive and aggressive. Ruth had to say how she felt, but I felt hurt for her,” he confessed.

“No one can snub me like that.”

The GB News star avidly added: “I have a good Belfast street fighter inside of me… I’ll be direct. I don’t look for presenters who think they have privilege or aura or photos. special benefits.” ITV has responded to Eamonn Holmes' 'This Morning' comment and insists viewers 'want change'
