ITV is still looking for a new Love Island villa

ITV boss Kevin Lygo has confirmed the channel is still looking for a new Love Island villa in Mallorca.
The last few series of the popular dating show were filmed on a property near Sant Llorenç des Cardassar in the east of the Spanish island.
However, it’s reportedly no longer available for the upcoming series, prompting show bosses to look elsewhere.

Mr Lygo, ITV’s chief executive for media and entertainment, spoke about the matter during a briefing following the release of ITV’s annual earnings.
He said: “We didn’t own it, we rented it, and we’re selecting a new house for this summer, so it’s all confidential. It will be wonderful.”
Asked if the show will remain in its longtime home of the Balearic Islands, he said: “Yes, it will be held in Mallorca. It’s going to be great (series).”
The show, now hosted by Laura Whitmore, was a huge hit for ITV2 and the first winter series to be filmed in South Africa began airing in early 2020.
Love Island returned to Mallorca last year after a pandemic-hit summer, with Liam Reardon and Millie Court crowned winners.
