I’ve parked in all 211 Sainsbury’s car parks for six years – now I’m in the disabled spaces

A NERDY shopper who has completed a six-year quest to park anywhere at his local Sainsbury’s has a new mission – to take on the handicapped bays.
The Sun told last year how Gareth Wild decided to spice up his everyday shopping trips by keeping a chart to tick off every space he used.
He eventually managed all 211 bays.
And now he’s landed his first disabled place after a relative stayed over Christmas with a blue card for reduced mobility.
Gareth, 40, triumphantly tweeted: “Without prompting she insisted we start carving away the remaining 14 disabled parking spaces that are now available.
“The perfect Christmas present does exist!
“This relationship doesn’t come to visit often, so the other 13 spots may need to be spread out over the next few years.”
Father of two, Gareth began his bizarre quest in 2015 at Sainsbury’s in Bromley, south London.
He was later often joined by daughter Aubrey, four, who will also be back.
Sharing a picture online, he added: “My daughter’s excitement in the back seat is almost palpable.”
His tweet had nearly 30,000 views, with one fan commenting, “You absolute genius.”
