In humorous videos, she shared how Poundland customers were always confused that items could cost more than £1, how the higher sale levels angered shoppers during Sports Direct, and what you experience as a delivery driver for Domino’s.

Here are her top secrets from the retail giants…

Poundland

Holly who is currently sharing interesting stuff on her Tiktok (holly_laing) and Instagram (@ holly.laing), said she worked for Poundland in 2015 for three months as a temporary Christmas break.

She says some customers will expect their entire cart to cost £1, or will struggle when products cost more than £1.

One customer told her they were simply not happy with paying £30 for £30 items.

The angry customer said “Tesco would probably be cheaper” before asking Poundland to reduce the price of its products to 50p each.

One TikTok viewer responded: “As someone who has worked in Poundland for 3.5 years, I can confirm this is a regular occurrence.”

The second added: “I work in Poundland and the max deal I’ve seen is £347.”

Holly also claims to have worked as a delivery driver for Domino’s Pizza and said she is usually the one receiving all the complaints.

This could be anger about the time the food arrived or the lack of items.

And often the complainers are the same, and she says she has had to deal with a particular situation “so many times”.

She comes to the house and a man will open the door and insist that he hasn’t ordered pizza.

Turns out the pizza was ordered by his wife or girlfriend without “wanting her partner to know”.

Another dilemma arises when a man’s credit card is completely bent and cannot be scanned.

The full-time social media influencer has now worked at Sports Direct for one year from 2016 to 2017.

Holly was asked to sell more handbags and magazines to shoppers while she was at work.

She has to hit a certain of these goals every day, however this doesn’t always go down well with clients.

One time a shopper asked the manager to come see her and her boss discovered that Holly hadn’t sold any accessories that day.

Holly claims she was later told she would be monitored for the rest of the day.

The former Sports Direct employee also revealed how upset one shopper was when she told them there was a limit of clothes allowed in the changing room.

The customer stole the item on the way out of the store.

Wilko

Meanwhile, while working as a cashier in Wilko, Holly said one customer left their baby with her while they rushed to the back of the store to pick up items they had left behind.

Holly felt awkward with the child while the shoppers in the queue looked at her annoyed.

And another customer told her she has Covid and is also not wearing a mask.

The woman said: “Uh, sorry, I’m in a hurry because I have Covid, but can you show me where the shampoo is?”

Holly replied: “Sorry, you said you had Covid? Sorry but I don’t think you should be in the store. ”

The Covid-positive woman said to her: “Well, how else do you expect me to take my shampoo?”
