Jada Pinkett Smith promises to share details of her family’s ‘deep healing’

Jada Pinkett Smith said her family has been focused on “deep healing” since her husband’s argument at the Oscars last month on the first episode of her show Red Table Talk since the incident.
The actress vowed that “discoveries” made by the Smith family “when the time calls” will be shared in a message posted at the top of the show.
It comes after the now infamous incident in which her husband, actor Will Smith, took the stage at the 94th Academy Awards and slapped Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke about Pinkett Smith’s short haircut.
A message that appeared before the episode read, “In light of what has happened over the past few weeks, the Smith family has focused on deep healing.
“Some of the discoveries surrounding our healing will be shared when the time calls.
“Until then… the table will continue to offer itself to powerful, inspiring and healing testimonies like that of our incredibly impressive first guest.
“Thanks for joining us, Jada.”
At the Red Table Talk, Pinkett Smith, her daughter Willow Smith and her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris discuss a variety of topics.
Wednesday’s episode guest-starred singer Janelle Monae, who shared her experience of coming out, overcoming her fear of abandonment, and healing from the traumatic effects of her father’s drug addiction.

Monae’s mother also joined the hosts.
The incident at the Oscars led to widespread criticism of Will Smith, who won the best actor award shortly after attacking Rock.
He subsequently resigned from the academy and was later banned from attending all academy events for the next 10 years.
