Jake Paul has accused Conor McGregor of “dodging” a possible fight with him after their Heat Twitter exchange last night.
Paul co-promoted Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Garden in New York and was a cast presenter on the show before leading the challenger to the ring. Watching from home to support fellow Irish fighter Taylor, McGregor couldn’t resist giving the YouTuber-turned-boxer a pop.
McGregor taunted Paul for his “Jimmy Saville” glasses, with the social media star hitting back with a rant of his own, saying he’s a better ambassador for fighters than the Irishman.
And during the post-fight press conference, Paul was asked about McGregor’s comments, in which he insisted the former two-weight UFC world champion avoid a fight between the two. “It is what it is,” Paul told media representatives in New York. “Of course Conor is watching to support Katie.
“We had a bit of banter but of course he always has something to say but he doesn’t really have a place to talk. He hasn’t won a fight in five years, Dana [White, UFC president] owns him and i’m the one who gave katie taylor a big payday and this is his hero.
“Conor McGregor isn’t tall enough to ride a roller coaster and I feel sorry for him because he ducks in front of me. But we will sort that out one day.”
Paul has been promoting Serrano for the past few months, taking her from a cult following in the boxing world to headlining a massive event at Madison Square Garden. A sell-out crowd filled the iconic arena to watch her and Taylor play out a thrilling split decision that narrowly benefited the Irish woman.

McGregor tweeted after the fight, “Who the hell is that idiot in the pink Jimmy Saville glasses?” Paul was quick to respond, saying, “I’m the one who’s done more for fighters than you ever have; the one who has won five fights in the last two years while you have lost five.
“The one that doesn’t belong to Dana White, the one that brought about the fight you just saw, the one that paid for your heroine Katie Taylor, that’s who.”
Taylor and Serrano now appear to be back against each other after the razor-sharp decision that Paul branded a robbery. Promoter Eddie Hearn has teased a possible fight at Dublin’s Croke Park. He also hinted that Madison Square Garden executives were keen to host the next chapter of the feud at their venue.
