Jake Paul has mocked Tommy Fury as he appears to have his sights set on a big money fight mike tyson.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer is 5-0 as a pro and looks forward to getting back in the ring in August. He had listed six possible opponents for his return, including Fury, but could now take on former world heavyweight champion Tyson in a massive pay-per-view battle.
He and Tyson are friends and partied together at St Bart’s over New Year’s Eve after meeting for their joint card during promotion in 2020. But Paul believes a mega-money fight with the legendary Tyson would be a similar event defining his legacy as brother Logan’s fight with Floyd Mayweather last summer in Florida.
Speak with mirror fight At the weigh-in for the Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano fight on Saturday night on DAZN, Paul explained that Tyson would outdo all other competitors, including Fury, for his next fight. The legendary former boxer returned to the ring against Roy Jones in November 2020 and said he only needs 30 days to prepare for his next assignment.
When asked if he would feel bad about stepping in the ring with 55-year-old Tyson, Paul replied: “No, have you seen him? He’s still hitting the pads like crazy, still a killer, still in phenomenal shape has a huge weight advantage, basically 20 or 30 pounds, it’s growing in his belly. It would be a good fight, obviously he has a lot more experience than me.
Tyson weighed in at 220lbs for his exhibition bout with Jones two years ago, while Paul generally fights at 190 and walks around just under 200lbs. The feared KO artist went 50-6 in his pro career but has not fought Ireland’s Kevin McBride in a sanctioned bout since 2005, when Paul was just seven years old.

“That would be the most legendary fight,” Paul explained the unique challenge. “For my legacy, it would be the most fun, most motivating, and sell the most pay-per-views. Sharing the ring with a legend would be something to talk about for the rest of my life and share with my kids so why fight Tommy Fury When can you fight Mike Tyson?”
For his part, Tyson seemed to have strayed from the idea in recent months. He initially appeared to be praising himself out of the event by demanding a billion-dollar payout, but has thawed from the idea in recent weeks. “Hell yes [I’d do it]just to break the record,” Tyson said on his ‘ Hotboxin ‘ podcast. ” Jake-Paul Don’t think it’s more profitable than the champions, this guy probably brings about 80 million people to the table. Let’s do it Jakey, god wouldn’t that be cool.”
