Jake Paul has pushed for Conor McGregor to fight in UFC within the next two years

Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub believes the UFC should “play ball” with YouTube star Paul and sign him for the promotion and believes a fight with McGregor will happen in “a year or two”.

Jake Paul was endorsed to sign with the UFC and land a “money” fight Conor McGregor in the next two years.

The YouTube star has frequently called out McGregor to a boxing match throughout his five-fight professional career, which also includes crossover victories over Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren. He recently offered that UFC Queen Dana White a one-fight deal against McGregor A review of the fighter’s pay is conducted in the octagon if he wins.

Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub believes the UFC should go along with Paul’s demands to sign for the promotion. “If I’m the UFC, hey man, that’s still happening, why not get a piece of the pie?” Schaub said on the latest episode of The Schaub Show.

“Why not have a share in this piece of the pie? This pie is going to be baked, whether it’s in a year or two years, this pie is in the oven dude,” Schaub said of a fight between Jake and Conor.

“I don’t know what the hesitation is. I would say that Jake-Paul is better suited to compete in the UFC than CM Punk. He has professional fights. Again, UFC, Conor will make all the money in the world, Jake will make all the money in the world. It happens, play ball with this kid. I know you don’t like him or whatever, but play with him.”

Paul has a previous background in wrestling and has trained in MMA as he plans to try to transfer to the UFC in the future. McGregor is currently out of action after breaking his leg last year but has gained to around 190 pounds which would close a significant size gap between the couple.

Jake Paul has started his MMA training



He came out to publicly criticize McGregor’s recent training footage after the star returned to boxing training. McGregor finally hit back at the YouTube star by branding him “Jack ***” in a social media video. McGregor is eyeing a return to the title scene at 170 pounds wants to compete against Kamaru Usman after his return, which would cause a significant delay in each fight.

UFC star Anthony Smith believes McGregor would ‘grill’ Paul if the pair stage a cage showdown “Firstly, Conor is half his height right now,” Smith said MMA fights.

“People miss that. Jake is a big guy and he fights small, burly welterweight wrestlers. He’s fighting Conor in a boxing match, that would probably be a pretty good fight to be honest. But will he KO him in an MMA fight? no

Not if Conor kicks – he’ll kick Jake Paul’s head right off his shoulders. People say Jake can wrestle a little like that [he] maybe be able to keep it a little competitive for a minute or so. But no, in an MMA fight he gets grilled.”
