Jake Paul opens up on Tommy Fury’s next fight
Jake Paul hailed Errol Spence as one of the top five fighters in the world after his stoppage win over Yordenis Ugas.
Spence returned to the ring after a 17-month hiatus from a serious eye injury, but dusted the cobwebs to dominate Ugas and add a third world title to his collection. Ugas, who beat Manny Pacquiao last year, was left in the 10th round with his right eye tightly closed, forcing the referee to call the fight off.
Spence immediately called out fellow world champion Terence Crawford to an undisputed fight for the crowning of a world welterweight champion. And Paul, who has his own undefeated record in professional boxing, was quick to praise the winner.

“And that’s why Errol Spence Jr. is on my top 5 pound for pound list,” he wrote on social media. “Ugas has a lot of heart, a lot of respect.” Spence was also praised by longtime rival Terence Crawford as the pair were finally on a collision course to determine the world’s best welterweight.
“Congratulations great fight,” he wrote on social media. “Now comes the real fight. No more talk, no more curbs, let’s go!!!” Immediately after the fight, Spence had said, “Everyone knows who I want next, I want Terence Crawford next. This is the fight I want, this is the fight everyone else wants. Terence, I’m coming for that motherf****** belt.”

Ugas had enjoyed some early successes against Spence and knocked out his fellow World Champion’s mouthpiece in the sixth round. But in the end he was overwhelmed before being saved by the referee for another day, despite the Cuban’s protestations.
“I’m sad,” Ugas said. “I trained really hard for this fight. All my respect goes to Errol Spence. He’s a great champion. I’m just sad about what happened tonight Carry on to the end. I definitely had a shot at winning the sixth round fight, but he recovered well. Congratulations to him and his team.”
