Jake-Paul used the fight stats as proof that Amanda Serrano was “robbed” in her split decision loss Kate Taylor.

Taylor remained undefeated as she defended her undisputed lightweight titles after 10 rounds back and forth against featherweight champion Serrano. They became the first two women in history to officiate a boxing event at Madison Square Garden.

The fight was extremely close as Serrano fired from the opening bell as Taylor tried to counter the Puerto Rican. Serrano started picking up the pace in the fifth lap and severely injured Taylor, but somehow she didn’t go down.

Taylor regained her composure in the later rounds and both women held it out to the last bell. In recent batting stats, Serrano passed Taylor 173 to 147 and Paul let fans know in a post-fight tweet.

“Amanda Serrano landed Katie Taylor with landed punches both to the body and to the head. men lie. women lie. Don’t count,” Paul wrote. Taylor passed Serrano in six of the rounds, but Serrano landed more punches as the fight progressed.

Paul said Katie’s promoter, Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn, thought the fight was a draw after the final bell. He claimed even Taylor’s trainer, Ross Enamait, thought the same thing. Paul believes Serrano won the fight but said it could have been a tie at worst.

“I don’t even want to speak about my opinion, of course I think it was at least a draw,” said Paul. “What I’m going to say publicly is that at the end of the fight, Eddie and I sat there and were like, ‘Oh, that’s probably a draw.’

“Then I’m in the ring before the decision is announced and Katie’s manager/trainer, who was in the corner, comes up to me and says, ‘Oh, that’s a tie’. So even Katie’s team thinks it was a tie, but obviously the judges got it the way they scored it.”

Given the enormity of the fight and the divided opinion as to its outcome, calls for a rematch were already being raised. Taylor said after the win: “A rematch would be absolutely phenomenal, if it wasn’t in Dublin we could sell out Croke Park with 90,000 people, that absolutely can happen.”
