FORMER The Only Way Essex star James Argent was spotted looking slimmer than ever as he hit the gym.
The reality TV star dropped an incredible 13 stone after undergoing a life-saving gastrectomy last year to begin her weight loss journey.
James, 34, can be seen showing off his boxing skills as he undergoes a training session at the Essex Fight Academy near his home in Epping.
He appears to be setting a new goal of fighting in a boxing match as he pits trainer Tom McDonnell in the social media clip.
The TV star looked thinner than ever as he hurled punches at his trainer, who shouted his instructions as they moved around the ring.
“This year’s boxing match? Could be another goal for me! Who should I fight?” James captioned the video, before posting a series of behind-the-scenes photos.
He smiled for a photo next to his best friend Tom, who took to his Instagram to talk about James’ weight loss by showing off his impressive before and after.
“It’s crazy what a year can do,” the coach wrote, showing James looking significantly bigger in one shot, before sharing his latest ringside snaps.
It comes days after James revealed how he was told by doctors to gain weight after pouring 13 ice cubes “too quickly” following his surgery.
The Towie star lost weight so quickly after the surgery that he now has to go for regular check-ups to check that he’s not losing too much fat.
“I lost a little more than I wanted to, so I wanted to get toned, gain a bit of muscle, and maybe even put in half a stone,” says Arg.
34 years old, weighing 27.5 at the heaviest and doctors predicting it will take him 18 months to reach his goal of 15 times 7lb.
But just three months after surgery, he was down to 14.5.
Arg has trained with his best mate and personal trainer Mark Wright, and he says his friends are always there for him – no matter what.
“We did weight training together and he was always a phone call away,” he says. “Whether it’s a weight problem, a girl problem or anything else, Mark has always been my go-to person.”
After swapping his drug and alcohol dependence for food addiction, Arg joked with Mirror that he needs to be careful, he doesn’t end up with a shopping habit now that none of his clothes fit.
He said: “The only thing I really had to watch was I didn’t turn into a shopaholic, because I had to clean out my entire closet.
“I never imagined my life would be like this. I feel more confident, more energetic, happier and healthier. I’m wasting my life. “
Arg previously told The Sun about What’s life like when he’s drunk? – confesses that he has closed himself off from the world.
He said: “Bottom makes me tired and sluggish so I have to plan every day to meet friends, do a job or achieve something.
“But after getting drunk, I was so exhausted that I ended up just lying in bed and not leaving the house. Then one afternoon, my mother found me in bed and started crying.
“She said, ‘I don’t recognize my son anymore.’ That is a big warning.
“Also, I had reached the heaviest I had ever been during the height of the pandemic and the doctors were saying I was on the verge of death because I had severe asthma and obesity, which is why. The worst possible combination if I contract Covid. . “
