Paramedics were called to his home in Woodford, Essex, after his friends became concerned when they were unable to get hold of the star.
Appearing on Loose Women today, Arg said he “had to learn a very hard and difficult lesson” and that it was a “flash of light”.
Asked what drove him to relapse, he replied, “It could be a number of things – I really feel like I’m starting to get complacent.
“I feel great,” he continued. “I will put my house on the truth that I will never drink again.
“I stopped going to meetings, I didn’t go to counseling… that’s what you have to do for the rest of your life.”
Arg declined to divulge more details about what happened the night he relapsed but said he had been struggling with his cravings because he would have previously resorted to food to stave them off. .
“I don’t want to go into details because it’s pretty personal,” he said. “You start to have an appetite and it’s learning about what to do.
“I think I’ve started to crave food during the summer … even though I’ve been so clean and sober for a long time.”
He explained that he had become unhealthy while locked up, which had given him 11 stone gains – something he lost after stomach surgery.
“I should have been more prepared … and more organized,” Arg said.
The reality TV star also revealed that he has struggled with loneliness – especially because he is an extrovert.
“I’m an extrovert so I need to be around everyone all the time,” he says. “A lot of everyone’s chaos may always be around everyone…my chaos is inside, alone.
“I’ve always dreamed of having this house down my parents’ path…but I’m there alone.”
He also explained that his unpredictable schedule made things complicated, but now he is slowly settling back in.
“Your problems will follow them wherever they go,” he said. “I’m in therapy every day… I go to the gym and I see my friends.”
He also talked about how the old flame Lydia helped him.
“Lydia is one of my best friends,” he said. “We’ve been together for eight years and have a lot of history but we’ve made it clear to each other that we’re friends.”
