James Nesbitt gives a worried look as he returns as DCI Tom Brannick while filming for the second series of Bloodlands.
The detective was spotted filming the new installment of the hit BBC 1 police drama in Belfast, co-starring Lola Petticrew, who plays his daughter Izzy on screen.
Nesbitt, 57, wore a pastel blue shirt and dark trousers, tie, sweater and gray speckled coat when filming took place on Donegall Street.
Lola, meanwhile, opted for a mustard yellow cardigan, a green bandana and a gray collared jacket.
The footage gives little clue as to what’s to come in the highly-anticipated second series.
The first run, set in Northern Ireland and shown last February and March, revolved around a mysterious assassin responsible for the disappearance and likely death of four people in 1998.
It proved to be a huge hit and was Northern Ireland’s most-watched BBC drama of all time.
Filming has begun on the exciting new season and it will consist of six one-hour episodes.
The confirmed cast so far includes Nesbitt as DCI Brannick, while viewers will also see Lorcan Cranitch (Jackie), Charlene McKenna (Niamh), Chris Walley (Birdy) and Petticrew in their roles.
After the first series aired, BBC drama director Piers Wenger said he was “overwhelmed” by audience reaction to the show, adding he was “thrilled” to renew it for another episode.

Executive Producer Jed Mercurio, creator of Line of Duty, added, “Everyone at HTM Television is thrilled that our debut production has been commissioned again.”
Nesbitt also said he was “thrilled” by the positive viewer reaction to the series, teasing, “I’m always happy to be back in Northern Ireland and revealing even more about Tom Brannick.”
The second season is scheduled to air later this year.
