Jamie Lee Curtis has talked about “never feeling more free” on the set of her new movie, in which she was able to “release” her stomach after years of suppression.
The actor, 63, is among the cast of Everything Everywhere All At Once – appearing alongside lead role Michelle Yeoh, 59, who plays a woman who must save multiple universes.
The sci-fi project – directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, called Daniels – has yet to have a UK release date, but will launch later this month in the US.
And ahead of her premiere at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival today, Jamie has revealed she’s decided to leave it all to her role as tax auditor Deirdre Beaubeirdra.

She shared a photo taken on set, in which she was seen wearing a turtleneck t-shirt that accentuated her waistline.
The photo was posted on Instagram yesterday, with Jamie accompanying it: “WELL…we GO! Two years ago we made this movie til the world shut down.”
“We just finished it just in time. It’s a magical mystery tour of a movie and I’m so excited to see it tomorrow in the festival’s opening premiere @sxsw,” she continued in post.

Jamie – the daughter of the late Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh – said she was “proud” to introduce to fans her character, the “strong enemy” of the lead role.
She continued the post by saying that there is an industry built on “hidden things” in modern society, with her giving examples like concealers, fillers and hair products.
The actor said: “Everything to hide the reality of who we are”. However, she added: “My guide to everyone [for this film] is: I don’t want to hide anything. “
Recalling her experience, she said: “I’ve had my tummy tuck since I was 11, when you start to have a sense of boys and bodies, and jeans are super tight.”
She continued in the recent post: “I very specifically decided to give up and release every muscle I used to squeeze to hide reality. That was my goal.”
The star added: “I’ve never felt more creatively and physically free.” She concluded by expressing her excitement when fans saw the “brilliance” of Yeoh and the rest of the cast.

Her admission on social media comes after co-director Kwan talked about her appearance in the film in an interview with Weekly entertainment recently.
He commented, “Everyone thinks her belly in the movie is a prosthetic leg, but it’s actually her real belly.” Kwan added that Curtis was “grateful” to be able to “just let it out.”
