A UNIVERSITY has issued a trigger warning on George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four because it thinks it can be “upsetting and upsetting”.
Northampton University staffers have classified the novel – which sounds like a chilling warning about the dangers of censorship – as “clearly documented”.
Critics say their warning contradicts the theme of the 1949 book. The story, set in an authoritarian state that suppresss individual thought, warns of what can happen to a society. society does not respect its historical or academic freedoms.
