Jane Carter has been named President of Universal Production Music.
The role is valid immediately.

Before joining Universal Production Music, she was business manager and executive producer for film composer George Fenton, managing his publishing catalog and live events portfolio.
Carter was responsible for Fenton’s partnership with BBC Worldwide, including the development and production of the BBCs Earth in the concert series global.
She has also worked with composers such as Michael Nyman, Max Richter, Craig Armstrong and Steven Price and produced two BBC Proms with the National Theater and Aardman Animations.
Carter has also held other positions as General Manager for BBC Worldwide Music Publishing, Creative Director, BBC Music and Head of Marketing for Warner Classics UK.
“Jane’s well-deserved promotion to President is a sign of my commitment to solidifying Universal Production Music as the premier production library.”
Jody Gerson, said, “Jane’s well-deserved promotion to President is a sign of my commitment to solidify Universal Production Music as the world’s premier production library through enhanced technology, innovation and world-class music.

In March, UMPG formed a strategic alliance with audio content production studio Audio Up.
The relationship will see UMPG identify and potentially sign creators who, it said at the time, “can both write songs for the podcasts and excel in contemporary songwriting.”
The company also promoted Dani Sawyerr to Director of A&R for Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) UK in the same month.music business worldwide
