Jane Fonda tosses an awards scroll to Cannes winner Justine Triet

Maybe making a movie with ex-quarterback Tom Brady was an influence on Jane Fonda. (Check out the video below.)
The 85-year-old ’80 for Brady’ star threw a perfect pass at French director Justine Triet during the closing ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday.
Fonda had just awarded Triet the Palme d’Or for best film for “Anatomy of a Fall”. Triet gave her acceptance speech and left, forgetting to take her roll of awards with her.
Fonda first tried to call her back, According to reportsThen I felt exactly that it was time for a clutch play. She threw the scroll straight at Triet and it hit her in the back. It wasn’t an accomplishment, but the Oscar-winner managed to catch the attention of Triet’s camp. Fast forward to 51:25.
The scroll was retrieved and the director eventually returned to the stage with Fonda at the Palais to renewed applause.
Good game Jane. And yes, you know who would have approved of that.
