Japanese Charts: Nintendo Switch Sports Dominates While Kirby Remains Strong

The latest Japanese charts are in and thanks to “Golden Week” today’s numbers cover two weeks of sales, from April 25th to May 8th. Of course, this means it’s the debut entry from Nintendo Switch Sports, which stormed to the top of the pile with 304,588 units sold.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land continues to sell well, recapturing second place with 77,330 units sold. Elsewhere, things appear to be going well for the heavily Switch-centric charts, with just one PS4 game making its way into the lineup.

The hardware sales of the two weeks show no big surprises. Switch continues to sell well, with the OLED model in particular having a great ole time there at the top of the stack. PS5 is seeing a nice surge in sales despite accounting for the two-week period, and the new 2DS LL is still hanging around and chilling in eighth place.
