Jen Psaki blasts GOP contestants for ‘completely misleading’ talking points

Republican Party candidates, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott and former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, have incorrectly suggested that Democrats allow abortion up to the moment of birth support.
It’s not “just some round of applause on the debate stage.” “It’s a talking point that Republican presidential candidates keep bringing up during the campaign,” said Psaki, a former Biden White House press secretary.
But it was “completely misleading,” she insisted. “Abortions beyond the viability of the fetus” are “incredibly rare” and “involve agonizing, emotional and ethical decisions,” she added.
Psaki cited data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showing that 90% of abortions occur in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
“No one advocates the abortion of viable babies. Nobody sells late abortions like Ron DeSantis claims. Nobody,” she added. “Not Joe Biden. Not Kamala Harris. Not Hillary Clinton. It is not Nancy Pelosi or any other politician who is being demonized by the right that is pushing for more late-breakdown abortions. None of them do.”
