Jeremy Clarkson ‘appalled’ at the hurt caused over Meghan Markle’s article
Jeremy Clarkson said he was “appalled to have caused so much damage” after receiving backlash after comments about Meghan Markle a column for The Sun.
The 62-year-old TV presenter tweeted that he had “put his foot in the game” earlier after some comments and would be “more careful going forward”.
In the columnreleased on Friday (December 16), Clarkson said he hates the Duchess of Sussex “on a cellular level.”

He added: “At night I can’t sleep as I lay there grinding my teeth and daydreaming about the day when she has to parade naked through the streets of every city in Britain while the crowd chants ‘Shame!’ sings. and throw clumps of excrement at them.”
ClarksonThe article follows the recent airing of Harry and Meghan’s explosive six-part Netflix documentary, in which the couple made allegations of mistreatment by the royal family.

That Comments in the article drew a lot of backlash onlinewith the likes of Nicola Sturgeon, John Bishop, Carol Vorderman and even Clarkson‘s own daughter Emily criticizes it.
In a tweet posted today (Monday, December 19) Clarkson sorry for the comments.
Oh man. I rather put my foot in it. In a column I wrote about Meghan, I awkwardly referred to a scene in Game of Thrones, and that went down badly with a lot of people. I am appalled to have caused so much damage and will be more careful in the future.

He wrote: “Oh dear. I preferred to put my foot in it. In a column I wrote about Meghan, I gave a clumsy reference to a scene in Game of Thrones, and it went down badly with a lot of people. I am appalled to have caused so much damage and will be more careful in the future.”
A spokesman for Ipso told the PA news agency that the regulator had received over 6,000 complaints about Clarkson’s articles as of midday Monday and that the number is subject to change.
He added that the complaints would be assessed according to the standard procedure.
Comments from Jeremy Clarkson come during the release of the Netflix documentary about Harry and Meghan
Clarkson‘s comments came in response to the new Netflix documentary about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan.
The limited series documented the couple’s story from their first meeting, marriage and eventual departure from the royal family.
On the series, the couple shared their thoughts on how the media was affecting his relationship with the public, as Meghan said: “You make people want to kill me.
She added, “It’s not just a tabloid, it’s not just a story, you scare me … And you created it for what? Because you’re bored or because it sells your newspapers or you feel better about your own life?”
