On Monday, Clarkson responded to the controversy, writing on Twitter: “Oh my gosh. I’d rather set foot in it.
“In a column I wrote about Meghan, I clumsy about a Game of Thrones scene that made a lot of people feel bad.
“I’m appalled that I’ve caused so much damage and I’ll be more careful in the future.”
The work was removed from The Sun’s website on Monday at Clarkson’s request.
