JK Rowling attended the world premiere of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore in London.
The 56-year-old Harry Potter author was joined on the red carpet by the likes of Jude Law, Eddie Redmayne and Mads Mikkelsen.
The latest film in the magical series sees the evil wizard Gellert Grindelwald, played by Danish actor Mikkelsen, take on Law’s Albus Dumbledore for the future of the wizarding world.
Rowling posed in a blue dress outside the Royal Festival Hall in London.
Last week, she responded to Russian President Vladimir Putin after he reportedly referred to her during a speech condemning the “breakdown culture” in the West.
The author said on Twitter that “criticisms of Western demolition culture may not be best leveled by those who are currently slaughtering civilians for the crime of resistance.”
Mikkelsen recently took over the role of Grindelwald from Johnny Depp, who left the Harry Potter prequel series after losing a High Court fight to his ex-wife Amber Heard.
On the red carpet, he said: “It started with me asking my kids to say yes and that wasn’t an option – that’s why it started.

“It’s obvious in the story. I jump in mid-process. And I had a long talk with David (Yates, director) and with Jude because those two characters are connected.
“So whatever he had in mind was also where my character was going.”
Law praised the competitive nature of his co-star Redmayne, who plays Newt Scamander.
He said: “Working in ensembles is one of the pinnacles of being an actor, and working with an ensemble that you’ve worked with before, so you have a short handwriting, you know each other both in front of and behind the camera, it’s just honest one of the highlights of this job.
“We all have wonderful roles to play and we all have our own characters to build on. And on top of that, we are in this extraordinary world. It’s a lot of fun, but we take it very seriously.
“We are also quite competitive. Led by Eddie always saying, ‘How can we do this better? What can we do again? Better!’
“There’s a real sense of respect for the material and the world and community of the wizarding world.”
Redmayne spoke of his excitement at the film finally being released.
He said: “This one has been a long time coming. We shot this film in the middle of lockdown.
“We were one of the first films to be made and it was made as secretly as the title suggests, but I’m thrilled that some of those secrets are finally being revealed.”
Among other stars appearing in the cast are Ezra Miller, Alison Sudol, Jessica Williams and Callum Turner.
The Secrets of Dumbledore hits theaters on April 8th.
