Joe Jonas warns concert audience: Don’t believe everything

Joe Jonas told the audience at the Jonas Brothers concert on Saturday not to believe what they hear unless he says it, seemingly nodding to recent reports about his divorce from actress Sophie Turner.
“It’s been a tough week,” Jonas said at the show at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. “I just want to say: Look, if you don’t hear it from these lips, don’t believe it. OK? Thank you everyone for your love and support. Me and my family love you.”
Since Jonas filed for divorce from Turner last week, several reports have been doing the rounds, including allegations about this Turner’s partying behavior led to a divorce or something Turner did or said on one The Ring camera led to Jonas ending the marriage. Neither Jonas nor Turner directly addressed specific reports, but in their joint statement announcing the divorce, they said it was an “amicable decision.”
“After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually decided to end our marriage amicably,” the statement said. “There are many speculative narratives as to why, but it is truly a shared decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our desire for privacy for ourselves and our children.”
Since the divorce was announced, Jonas and Turner’s past statements have been reevaluated. In May 2022, Turner said Elle UK that she missed the UK and wanted to return for her mental health.
“I miss England so much,” Turner said in the interview. “The people, the attitude, everything. I’m slowly withdrawing my husband. I really love living in America, but for my mental health I need to be with my friends and family.”
Jonas was also taken to task for asking model Gigi Hadid out when he was 19 or 20 and she was 13 or 14.
“I was so nervous; I literally didn’t even know what it meant to spend time with a boy,” Hadid said, according to a Teen Vogue 2015 article. “Also, the Grammys are on a Sunday and I didn’t want to tell him I had school the next day, so I thought, ‘No, maybe next time.'”
“I didn’t have my phone with me and I don’t think he had either because we were at the Grammys, so he wrote his number on a piece of paper and gave it to my mom,” she continued. “And we’ve been friends ever since. But now we’re more than just friends. Obvs.”
