Irish actor Jack Gleeson has married his longtime girlfriend in a ceremony in Co Kerry.
he game of Thrones star tied the knot with UK-based actress and comedian Róisín O’Mahony in an intimate service at the Church of the Sacred Heart of the Glen in Ballinskelligs on Saturday.
Rev. Patsy Lynch said it was a “wonderful” ceremony and the couple were very relaxed in the kingdom.
“It is a pre-wedding ceremony, the actual ceremony is over in England but the family have been holidaying down here in Ballinskelligs, The Glen for many years and have so many fond memories here,” said Father Lynch Independent.ie.
“We had a beautiful, prayerful and dignified wedding ceremony. Jack wrote to me this morning to say it was such a wonderful, touching ceremony and after that they went to dinner.
“It means so much to them because of Ballinskelligs and The Glen, they just loved it and there was a nice chilled vibe from the start.
“I think it was the sheer simplicity that touched everyone and everyone was happy and content. Everyone down here knows Jack and that shows they’re just part of the whole community. When I met him it was like we’ve known each other all our lives, he’s that kind of person. There is nothing artificial there.”
Jack, also known as Jason, played the evil young king Joffrey Baratheon in the hit fantasy TV series Game of Thrones and married Margaery Tyrell, played by Natalie Dormer.
He studied philosophy and theology at Trinity College Dublin and was made a fellow of the university in 2012.
