Jofra Archer and Ollie Robinson deserve England deals

Sussex pace bowler Jofra Archer has kept his contract with the England side despite being sidelined for more than a year.

County colleague Ollie Robinson has a similar deal.

After two operations on a problematic right elbow, Archer was poised for a domestic comeback at the start of the English summer, but a stress fracture meant another extended absence.

Although his return and a first international appearance are still a long way off since March 2021, Archer is back at bowling and has England’s continued support after being offered another year’s contract.

He has been working on his fitness in Hove this summer.

Archer was known as one of the world’s best fast bowlers in all formats before his long hiatus and featured in England’s 2019 World Cup win and The Ashes this summer.

The England and Wales Cricket Board contract structure is the same as last year, covering Test and Limited Over players and taking into account performance over the past 12 months and the likelihood of who will be there next year, with 30 players included Some kind of deal.
