Comedian John Bishop and actor Damian Lewis entered the cockpit of their heavily delayed plane Saturday night – pretending to test-fly themselves in frustration.

The pair left France more than six hours late after watching Liverpool lose to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final.

“I found a spot on a charter flight from Paris. It felt like a win when I started with Damian Lewis. More than 5 hours later we still haven’t moved. I wish I had. get the train #crapweekend“, Bishop said in a tweet.

Lewis soon joked, “Spend those six hours with John Bishop and me. Day 2 at Big Brother’s House,” before posting the photo from inside the cockpit.

Bishop replied, “It’s your honor to make me do it…”

Fans saw the funny side with one post: “You can fly a Tardis plane…. A plane is a walk in the park.”

Another said: “Con Air is alive and well.”

Meanwhile, ahead of the game, Bishop vented his frustration at the state of UEFA ticketing failures that had spoiled the night.

“At the gate in Paris – been here for 25 minutes and no one is allowed in – shameful treatment of fans who are showing unbelievable levels of patience,” he wrote on Twitter.

Like Bishop, host of BBC’s Match of the Day Gary Lineker also seems to be entangled in problems, as he stated on Twitter: “Finding it is impossible to get into the ground. This looks very dangerous. Absolute carnage.

He soon added: “I’m not sure there could have been a worse organized event if you had tried. Totally bad and dangerous,” before tagging UEFA’s account.

Meanwhile, Liverpool FC released a statement midway through the second half of the match condemning the situation.

It read: “We are extremely disappointed by the problems with getting into the stadium and breaking the security perimeter that Liverpool fans faced this evening at the Stade de France.

“This is European football’s greatest game and supporters should not have to go through the spectacles we witnessed tonight.

“We have officially requested a formal investigation into the cause of these unacceptable problems.”
