John Cena was furiously stoned by fans after he appeared to use Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to promote his new TV show Peacemaker.

The WWE icon, 44, has faced fierce criticism over his ‘tone deaf’ tweet referring to the main character of his HBO series.

The character famously appeared in James Gunn’s 2021 film ‘The Suicide Squad’ and is known for always trying to make peace.

John decided to mention the character just hours after the tragic news broke that Russia was invading Ukraine as innocent civilians feared ‘World War Three’ had begun.

“If I can somehow summon the powers of a real life #Peacemaker, I think this would be a great time to do it,” the actor tweeted.
