John Lennon’s killer Mark David Chapman admits there’s ‘evil’ in his ‘heart’

“I wouldn’t blame anything else or anyone else for getting me there,” Chapman told the board.
“I know what I’m doing and I know it’s evil. I know it’s wrong but I want to be so famous that I’m willing to give it all away and take a life.”
Chapman killed Lennon on the night of December 8, 1980 as he and Yoko Ono were returning to their Upper West Side apartment.
Earlier that same day, Lennon autographed Chapman to a copy of his recently released Double Fantasy album.

Chapman, 67, told the board: “This is evil in my heart. I want to be someone and nothing will stop that.”
Chapman is serving a sentence of 20 years to life at the Green Haven Correctional Facility in Hudson Valley, New York.
He has repeatedly expressed regret during his amnesty hearings over the years.
