Johnny Depp Concerned About Marrying Amber Heard Due to Big Age Gap, Trial

A psychiatrist who had 18 treatments with Johnny Depp also claimed in his testimony that the Pirates of the Caribbean actor admitted to having a ‘chaotic’ relationship with his ex-wife Amber Heard – claiming that he he’ve expressed anger at her a couple of times.

Johnny Depp has been concerned about marrying his ex-wife Amber Heard due to their age difference, people in Virginia’s Fairfax District Court investigated Thursday.

Dr Alan Blaustein, a psychiatrist who previously treated Mr Depp, also claimed the actor struggled to stay sober in the video shown in court.

The medical professional said he believes the Pirates of the Caribbean actor suffers from anxiety and has had conversations regarding the star’s bipolar disorder.

Blaustein met Depp 18 times and during that time the actor reflected on what he describes as a “ruthless and violent” childhood after his father left the family home.

The witness also said the former Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them actor – who was 51 at the time – was concerned about marrying Ms Heard, 29, due to the huge age gap.

The pair previously began a romance in 2011, after meeting on the set of the comedy-drama, The Rum Diary. They were married in a civil ceremony in February 2015.

Ms Heard filed for divorce from the father of two in May 2016 and received a temporary restraining order against him. Their divorce was finalized in January 2017.

On Thursday, the court heard Mr Blaustein testify that Mr Depp had told him he had a “turbulent” relationship with his ex-wife and had “expressed anger towards her”.

It was also claimed by the psychiatrist to imply “something terrible” inside him as a “devil”. Previous testimony from other witnesses has confirmed Depp has another self that he calls a “monster”.

The witness said he stopped seeing the actor when he went to Australia to film the fifth season of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Captain Jack Sparrow is suing Heard for alleged defamation over an article she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018 in which she claimed to be the victim of domestic abuse.

The article did not mention the actor’s name, but Mr Depp argued that he had lost his job and was financially affected by the work.

The Aquaman actress is protesting her ex-husband for $100m (£81m).

The trial continued.
