Depp’s witness admits she saw parts of the trial on TV

Johnny Depp has been dealt a major blow in his $50 million defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

The 58-year-old actor is suing his ex-wife over a domestic violence column she wrote for the Washington Post in 2018, though Depp was not named in the article.

His legal team called “good friend” Gina Deuters as the first witness at the afternoon session in the Virginia court.

The British witness told the court that she works on social media but previously worked as a visual effects coordinator for films.

She said she has known Johnny since 2005 and claims she is a close friend, and her husband Stephen Deuters has also worked with Depp for 17 years.

It ended abruptly when it was revealed she had watched clips of the trial on TV and seen some of the other testimonies online.

This meant the judge was forced to take action and ask Gina to leave the courtroom.

After calling attorneys for both sides to speak to her, the judge turned to Gina and asked, “Have you watched the trial over the past week?”

Nervously, Gina replied, “I’ve seen clips of it online, yes.”

The judge reaffirmed: “You watched, so you saw parts of this process?”

Gina confirms: “Yes.”

The judge asked, “Okay, testimonies?”

After considering for a while, Gina admitted, “Yeah, I’ve seen clips of it.”

The judge asked if she had any questions before clarifying that she looked at witness statements before turning to Gina and telling her, “You’re excused ma’am, you can go home.”

This had followed Amber Heard’s former personal assistant, Katherine James, who claimed she “spit” in her face and sent “offensive messages” during her time working with her.
