Speaking to the Law & Crime Network after the verdict, Zellner said: “He called me and left a voicemail at my office.

“I don’t really believe it was Johnny Depp, but it looks like he left a phone number and just said he wanted to talk to me.”

She added: “It showed me that he was innocent, because he said, ‘I was watching on Create a Killer, where you say you would be the last person someone would hire if they’re guilty, because you’ll find out about it’.

“And I was impressed that that was what motivated him to contact me.”

Zellner also praised the actor’s legal team and said his testimony in the case was “not an act” and added that the movie star is a “very humble and sincere person”.

After the ruling Heard said she felt “heartbroken” by the ruling, adding that she was “still sadder” that she had “lost the right” to “speak freely and openly”.

“The disappointment I feel today cannot be put into words. I am heartbroken that the mountain of evidence is still insufficient against the disproportionate power, influence and sway of my ex-husband,” she said in a statement.

“I am even more disappointed with what this sentence means for other women.

“It’s a step backwards. It sets the clock back to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke up could be publicly humiliated and humiliated.

“It resets the position that violence against women must be taken seriously.

“All in the blink of an eye.

“False, very serious and criminal charges have been made against me through the media, which has spawned loads of hateful content, even though no charges have been brought against me. It circumnavigated the world twice in a nanosecond, and it has had a huge impact on my life and career.

“And six years later, the jury gave me my life back. I’m really humbled.”

Depp went on to say that his decision to pursue the case was “made only after careful thought” and that his goal was “to reveal the truth, whatever the outcome.”
