Johnny Depp releases statement after winning Heard’s defamation trial

Johnny Depp holds an orphaned honey badger during a visit to a wildlife rescue center in Kent, he is said to have been “blown away” by the whole experience.

The actor, 58, has been in the UK in recent days while finishing a defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard, 36, in the US – with a sentence handed down yesterday.

He’s been spotted with guitarist Jeff Beck, 77, since arriving here, and the Pirates of the Caribbean actor has even performed in gigs with him in recent days.

And it is understood that during his musical break, he visited Folly Wildlife Rescue in Tunbridge Well – with Jeff, a patron of the charity that rehabilitates rescued animals.

The charity announced the visit on their Facebook page earlier today, sharing a photo of the actor holding a honey badger on an afternoon described as “an incredible afternoon. ”

It said he was brought to the center by Jeff Sandra Beck’s wife, with Johnny said to have toured the site’s vet and care units, as well as met orphaned badgers.

The charity said in its social media platform post of the visit: “Johnny was extremely commendable and in his own words ‘blown away’ by what he saw.”

It added that he had been allowed the “rare privilege of a short time” to hold an orphaned tiger cub named Freddie, with the center currently nursing several such cubs.

The visit comes just a day after a jury reached a verdict in a smear case against him and his ex-wife Amber, whose trial has taken place in recent weeks in the US.

Johnny sued Amber over a domestic violence article in the Washington Post in 2018. Although he didn’t name it, he said it implied he abused her.
