Johnny Depp is jealous of Nicolas Cage saying that former band member

Johnny Depp has a “habit of jealousy” with his ex-girlfriend and is jealous of co-stars like Nicolas Cage, a longtime friend previously announced in court on Thursday.

Bruce Witkin, a bandmate and longtime friend of the actor, testified that Mr Depp, 58, was often jealous of the male colleagues of his ex-wife Amber Heard, 36.

Testifying via video, the witness claimed his 40-year old friend – whom he had not seen since 2018 – had “deep-seated problems” that “had nothing to do with Amber”.

Mr Witkin also claimed that Mr Depp and musician Marilyn Manson often drank alcohol and drugs together – claiming the two friends “will have a lot of trouble”.

Mr. Depp is suing his ex-wife for defamation over an article she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018 in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse.

The Aquaman actress is protesting her ex-husband for $100m (£81m).

As he began his testimony heard in Virginia’s Fairfax District Court on Thursday, Mr Witkin began by saying that his former bandmate Mr Depp “certainly” had a “jealous relationship”. Heard, and listed Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage as someone Mr. Depp had been jealous of before.

Mr Witkin went on to add that the Pirates of the Caribbean actor would be “working on his own” as his then wife Ms Heard would work with the male co-stars.

He recounted Mr Depp drinking and smoking with shocker Marilyn Manson, 53, and claimed that his old friend “tried to clean up a few times” when discussing his alleged alcohol and drug abuse.

Mr Witkin explained how surprised he was at Depp’s alleged use of cocaine, claiming the actor “hated” the substance in his youth and that the actor hid his use of the substance for a long time. “until I believe 2016”

Discussing Depp going to therapy, Witkin said: “He did it for a bit, and then he stopped. In my experience, the deep-rooted problems he was dealing with were unrelated. nothing to do with Amber, that’s my opinion.”

He went on to say that he had never witnessed Mr Depp or Ms Heard physically abuse each other and said he had not seen the actor since 2018.

“Can’t contact him, no return message, no email,” Ms. Witkin said in her video.

He went on to add: “I think there were lies and the bull**** said about me that he actually trusted, which is surprising.

“I know he’s not happy with my testimony but I’m not going to lie.”

Miss Heard and Mr Depp struck up a romance in 2011, after meeting on the set of the comedy-drama, The Rum Diary. They got married in February 2015.

The actress filed for divorce from the father of two children in May 2016 and received a temporary restraining order against him.

The trial continued.
