Johnny Depp allegedly claimed he could punch Amber Heard in the face “and nobody could”, after their wedding in February 2015.

Io Tillett Wright, a former close friend of both Mr. Depp and Ms. Heard, gave evidence via video link in Virginia’s Fairfax County Court on Tuesday and made a number of statements regarding their relationship. old couple.

Mr. Wright enjoyed a friendship with the former couple until December 2015, when he cut contact with Mr. Depp but maintained a friendship with Mrs. Heard.

Speaking via video link on Tuesday, Mr Wright accused Depp of becoming paranoid while on alcohol and drugs, but “wonderful, friendly and kind” when sober.

Mr Wright, a photographer, recalls developing a strong friendship with Mr Depp after meeting him in 2013 and at one point claimed he still “cares deeply” about his old friend. me.

He went on to claim that before marrying Mrs Heard in February 2015, Mr Depp was trying to “sober up” his ex-wife.

“It’s really frustrating for him to be sober. Well, he doesn’t want to be,” Mr. Wright told the court on Tuesday.

Mr Wright also claimed that Mr Depp had managed to stay sober during his wedding day to Ms Heard but made the comment to him after deepening his relationship with the actress.

‘We got married and now I can punch her in the face and nobody can do anything,’ Mr Wright claims Depp told him after marrying Mrs Heard.

Mr Wright also claimed how Mr Depp was convinced “Amber was romantically involved with every man she worked with and every woman she came in contact with” throughout their relationship.

Mr Depp has denied ever abusing Ms Heard.

The actor is suing Ms. Heard for alleged defamation over an article she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018 in which she claimed she was a victim of domestic abuse.

The article did not mention the actor’s name.

Ms Heard is protesting her ex-husband for $100m (£81m).
