Johnny Depp Trial: Isaac Baruch Says ‘It’s Not Fair What She Did’

Johnny Depp’s libel trial against ex-wife Amber Heard continues and more disturbing details of their strained marriage have come to light.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star, 58, has taken Ms Heard, 35, to court in a libel suit after he claimed she defamed him in an opinion piece she wrote for the Washington Post in 2018.

Although Ms Heard didn’t name Mr Depp in her piece, he objected – captioning the Aquaman actress’ article: “I’ve spoken out against sexual violence – and faced the wrath of our culture.” That needs to change.”

Mr Depp’s legal team argue the article implies the American star is a domestic abuser and he is suing for compensation in the region of US$50million (£38million).

With the trial beginning with jury selection earlier this week, the case is now rolling — with new, alarming details emerging from the Fairfax, Virginia court.

On Wednesday, Mr Depp’s childhood friend Isaac Baruch took the stand and was asked about comments the actor allegedly made in the past.

Ms Heard’s lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, asked Mr Caruch if he remembered a conversation with Johnny in October 2016.

Ms Bredehoft asked: “Do you remember Mr Depp ever telling you that, in simple terms, he was hoping for Amber’s decomposing corpse to decompose in the frigging trunk of a Honda Civic?”

Mr Baruch looked at the documents made available to him and replied: “I see it here, so obviously yes it was said. It was written.”

The jury then heard that a few weeks before Mr Baruch had to move out of the Los Angeles penthouse in which Mr Depp let him live rent-free, text messages were sent between the two friends.

Ms Bredehoft asked: “Remember Mr Depp called Amber Heard and said it was her fault?”

He replied, “There it is written, I see that.”

Ms Baurch read out part of a message from Mr Depp, which said: “This c*** ruined such a freaking cool life we’ve had for a while.”

The process goes on.

Mr Depp and Ms Heard’s relationship began in 2012 after they met on the set of the 2011 film The Rum Diary.

They married in 2015 at a beach ceremony on the private Bahamas island of Little Hall’s Pond Cay – owned by Mr Depp.

The ceremony was a private affair with only a few family and friends in attendance on their big day — with a few dozen guests.

However, the marriage fell apart in 2016 when Ms Heard filed for divorce and was awarded a restraining order against him.

The divorce was finalized in 2017 – but explosive claims have since surfaced about their seemingly volatile marriage.

In 2018, Mr Depp launched a lawsuit against News Group Newspapers after a columnist in The Sun branded him a “wife beater”.

Mr Depp lost the case – but with Ms Heard brought in as a key witness for the case, a number of shocking claims and allegations were made against both parties.
